Las Vegas Marathon Finisher Medal
Branding, Concepting, Rendering
I designed the finisher medals for the inaugural Las Vegas Marathon. There were around 6,000 poeple that ran this race. I designed a medal for three different distances; Marathon, Half Marathon and The 7.02 miles (a nod to the area code).
My concept was a poker chip but each distance showed a unique scene from that course. The marathon depicts Red Rock Canyon where the marathon starts in that area.
Programs Used
The Half Marathon depicts the Arts District. My process was to take photos of these areas and vectorize them in illustrator. I then made them 3 different colors since these medals are done in 3 different layers. I had to figure out with each medal how I would change the image so it worked with 3 layers.

The last medal is The 702. This is the area code in Las Vegas. It ran 7.02 miles. This medal depicted the finish line on Fremont Street. It was an awesome finish line and many of the participants loved this medal the most even though it was for the shortest distance. All of these medals have an "antique finish" that makes it look more distressed and classic instead of a cheap enamel medal.
